5 Day Human Cadaver Dissection For Movement Artists
This workshop is designed for all movement artists whether they be teachers or students who wish to deepen their understanding of the human form with the process of revealing though dissection.
Description:
Even the best anatomy resources fall short of presenting a true sense of the reality of the human form and how structures integrate functionally. There is no better way to understand the structures of the human body and how they vary and inter-relate than through dissection.
This opportunity to study with human cadavers will allow you to explore the fascinating and often disorienting world of real anatomy.
Studying with cadavers is a transformative experience and will forever change the way you conceive of the miracle of nature.
The art of dissection is the art of revealing the hidden treasures in the forms; it is the art of sculpting new perspectives through creative and curious exploration. This powerful workshop offers you a unique opportunity to dissect the human form and with expert guidance you will create your own journey of discovery. Dissection techniques and the safe use of dissection tools will be taught, and projects will be yours to choose and pursue.
The learning emphasis will be on exploring how structures integrate within the whole and how the understanding of these patterns of functional integration can lead to more effective approaches to somatic skill acquisition.
Focus will also be given to how structural anatomy compares to functional anatomy and the workshop will include presentations and discussions of functional training and how to effectively integrate these approaches into your practices.
Many anatomy models and texts will also be on hand for references and to enhance your learning experience.
No previous anatomy or lab experience is required.
