BODYWORK

An integration of orthopedic, osteopathic, Asian, self-awareness and sports modalities. All of the styles are deeply therapeutic, to relax, refresh, and tone the body’s systems. Stretches are fluid and extended to your comfort limit, to relax tense muscles, open joints, and exercise tendons, ligaments, and fascia. Wearing loose comfortable clothing to your session is recommended.

Asian Acupressure Styles

In Asian medical theory, the body, mind, and emotions are closely interrelated. Good health and well being depend on the ability of the body’s tissues (muscles, blood, bones) and qi (“chi”), or bio-electrical energy, to flow freely into balance. Acupressure uses human touch on pressure points and energy “meridians” to stimulate the body’s natural healing abilities. Sessions with these styles may take place with the client either on a table, seated, or on a padded floor mat.

Tui Na is a dynamic style is used to treat a wide range of ailments, using hand techniques and manipulations. Tui Na has been used in China for more than 2,000 years and is the basis of many other bodywork styles, including chiropractic and sports massage.

Thai Massage and Ashiatsu are beautiful styles which are slow-paced and deeply relaxing. They combine rhythmic acupressure with hands and feet, gentle rocking, and yoga-like deep assisted stretches. Treatment takes place on a padded floor mat or table
